The most basic job of all humans (and even animals) on Earth is to survive. Before you talk about goals of education, or growing a family or traveling abroad, you have to be able to live. It makes sense, right? Without being able to be a living and breathing human being, nothing else matters. Extending your life to as long as possible remains a priority for many. It’s easy for people to talk the talk, but when it comes to actually doing the steps to have a better life, many fall flat.

It’s actually not that hard to extend your life expectancy. There are plenty of easy and inexpensive ways to do so. You can do something really high-end which is helpful, but it’s the basics that’s all you need. While it’s true that you can’t really predict how long you’ll live, you still have to try your best. Plus, who wouldn’t want to live a healthier and stronger lifestyle?

The Mediterranean Secret

The countries that surround the Mediterranean are often touted as being one of the places where people live the longest. Meeting folks who are pushing 80 or 90 years old isn’t uncommon. When you look at the way they eat, it’s no surprise why they live so long. The Mediterranean diet is rich with fresh seafood, hearty vegetables, and the staple of extra virgin olive oil. All these combined makes for a meal that’s not only delicious, but good for your heart too. It’s no wonder why their dishes are favored by people all across the world.

Get Moving

A healthy diet is best coupled with movement with the body. Physical exercise is great at keeping your heart young and strong. There’s a reason why couch potatoes aren’t viewed as the picture of health. The gym might be the obvious choice, but it’s not the only way to get your blood pumping. Playing sports, taking a quick walk or even taking a dip in the pool are just some of the ways to have a healthier lifestyle. By no means do you need to be spending tons of money on this. Getting some movement can be both free and easy. It doesn’t need to be time-consuming too! Even incorporating 5-10 minutes of exercises can work wonder for your body.

Turn to Science

Developments in science and biotechnology have allowed humans to extend their life by almost double. Many ages ago, it would be a miracle to see a fully-grown man at the age of 40. After all, the common cold was a deadly killer without proper medicine back then. Now though, things are much different. Science has given us breakthrough medicine and supplements to aid our health. Even advancements like telomere shortening

can give us a glimpse into how old we truly are. It’s no surprise how with science, living to a hundred is possible. All it requires is proper diet, good amount of exercise, and daily intake of vitamins and medicines to truly improve the way you live.
